is there a way I can easily "send" to the database a study which is currnetly loaded in the viewer?
actually I have to open the database panel and manually import that study from it's source.
missing feature or I'm missing an easier way to accomplish this?

It's a missing feature that we should add in the next release cycle.

I think you should add a dropdown menu next to the viewer database button with "import current case to database"
as far as I understand, once loaded in the viewer, image are temporarily stored in your PC under the "temp" folder... that button would simply copy those DICOM files from the "temp" folder to the "database" folder
many times you load a CD , inspect it's content and just after you decide to discard them or keep them.
this button would make easier and faster to store those images in the database once viewed
