Opening PDF DICOM files in RadiAnt

Dear Maceiz and the RadiAnt Team

You have been wonderful over the last two years

As you know, i have been promoting RadiAnt on both my sites as i do sincerely beleive that this is the best on PC platform

I used to put powerpoint shows to teach on my website. Now with RadiAnt being able to handle zip files, i converted the PP to PDF and then PDF 2 DICOM using osirix and have uploaded these Rapid Reporting sets on the website http://www.frcrtutorials.com/rapid-reporting

But, RadiAnt doesn't seem to like the zipped dicom files anymore

Can you please look at these zip files and advise.

I can open them with OsiriX on Mac but not with RadiAnt on PC

Thanks in advance

Regards
Sameer

Dear Sameer,

Thank you for reporting your issue.
I took the liberty of changing the subject of your thread, however.
The problem does not lie in ZIP handling. Your file is not opened in RadiAnt because ...basically it's a PDF with a DICOM header. RadiAnt does not support PDFs embedded in DICOM files.
If you want to have "real" DICOM files then you should avoid PowerPoint to PDF to DICOM conversion and instead convert the source BMP or JPEG images straight to DICOMs.

Kind regards,
Maciej

Dear Maciez

I have converted Powerpoint-Keynote-high quality TIFF-DICOM

Exported zipped DICOM, it now works with RadiAnt and OsiriX

Thanks a lot, am sure many trainees will appreciate your software

Sameer,

I have just tried the second RR set (Rr02.zip) and it works flawlessly in RadiAnt. So if you prepare other sets the way you did with Rr02.zip, everything should be ok.

Kind regards,
Maciej

Thanks Maciej

Can't express how happy i am today, it's a dream come reality to be able to get the sets online and people to be able to practice the way they get it in real exams, many many thanks for RadiAnt which has made this possible. If not for RadiAnt it would have been biased for only Mac !

Best wishes
