PT/MR image fusion

Hi!

My PET image series is reconstructed with 192x192x89 pixels (89 axial slices). FOV = 600x250mm. Thus having voxelsize of 3.125x3.125x2.78 mm^3/voxel.

I want to do an image fusion with a MR series of 128x128x89 pixels (89 axial slices). FOV = 600x250mm thus having voxelsize of 4.6875x4.6875.2.78 mm^3/voxel.

What technique is used during the image fusion process? Is the larger image series resampled/resized? or is the smaller of the two resampled/resized?

Regards
A

Hello,

During the fusion process each image is used with its full resolution, you're not losing any details.
So basically, both images will be upsampled before they are displayed on the screen.

Kind regards,
Maciej
